Weight changes can be frustrating, especially during perimenopause and menopause. GLP-1 medications may be helpful for some patients, but they are not a simple yes-or-no decision.
GLP-1 medications can be part of a medically guided weight management plan for appropriate candidates. During a consultation, we discuss health history, goals, possible benefits, potential side effects, contraindications, cost, access, nutrition, muscle preservation, and long-term maintenance.

Medication alone is rarely the whole plan. We may also discuss protein intake, strength training, sleep, stress, alcohol, blood sugar, labs, constipation prevention, nausea management, and how to protect lean muscle while losing weight.
